Artist Statement:
I explore contemporary issues of sexuality and consumerism through painting, ceramics and performance. As a female artist and woman of color, I take a critical view on mass media culture and the way women are over sexualized. I am fascinated by social media, cult of beauty, gender constraints, excessive consumerism and shallow human connections. My inspiration stems from my personal experiences and interactions on social media. Interacting with narcissistic, egocentric and extraordinarily superficial people helps me explore the boundaries between self perception and social perception.
